Scarce Team USA ‘weightlifting trials’ pin for the canceled Tokyo 1940 Summer Olympics. The pin, 19 mm x 19 mm, features the Olympic rings in enamel with an American shield and raised text, “US, Olympic, 1940.” Suspended from the bottom is a pendant, 13 mm x 15 mm, which shows an embossed design of a weightlifter pressing barbells over his head. Reverse of pin bears the maker’s mark: “Dieges & Clust, 1939.”
