Taylor, who served as Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and was JFK’s top military advisor. He was invited to speak at the Calvin Bullock Forum, which was founded by Wall Street investor Calvin Bullock in 1936. The group would invite prominent public figures to come to New York City and give lectures on topics related to political, scientific, economic, or military matters. Speakers at the forum ran the gamut from senior military officers, captains of industry, and foreign heads of state. The forum gave him a sterling silver paperweight to thank him for his participation."
