American jazz drummer (1909-1981) who had hits with the songs 'Topsy I' and 'Topsy II. Cole played with several notable players and ensembles, including Jelly Roll Morton's Red Hot Peppers, Blanche Calloway, Benny Carter, Willie Bryant, Stuff Smith's small combo, Cab Calloway, and Louis Armstrong's All Stars. Vintage glossy 8 x 10 lightweight photo of Cole seated behind his drum kit by the Miners Studio of New York, signed and inscribed in fountain pen, "To Dick, Lots of happiness, sincerely, Cozy Cole.” In fine condition.
