Description

The unknown Brando signs for "the fairest of the fair" while starring in A Streetcar Named Desire

Vintage fountain pen signature and inscription, "To Florence, the fairest of the fair, Marlon Brando,” on a light green 5 x 3.75 album page, with a collector's annotation in the corner: "'A Streetcar Named Desire,' 1-31-48." In fine condition, with a small stain, and a block of light toning. Brando was a virtually unknown actor at the time he was cast as Stanley Kowalski in the original Broadway production of Tennessee Williams' play A Streetcar Named Desire. He famously reprised the role in the 1951 film adaptation, and his iconic cry of 'Stella!' echoes through the halls of Hollywood history to this day.
