Jewish Hebrew-language poet (1856-1909), most notable for writing ‘Hatikvah,’ the poem that became the basis for the Israeli national anthem. Vintage matte-finish 8.75 x 6.5 photo of Imber posing with Judah Magnus and Herbert Friedenwald, affixed to the original 14 x 11 studio mount, which is signed and inscribed in black ink, "To my belovd mothr Alice Clarke and to my dear father Chauncey Dwight Clarke, By their child Naftali Herz Imber, My heart is true, my love is to you.” In very good to fine condition, with light silvering to the darker areas of the image, and toning and staining to mount.
