American lawyer (1914-2001) who served as district attorney of Dallas County from 1951 to 1987, participating in two of the most famous court cases of the 20th century: the prosecution of Jack Ruby for killing Lee Harvey Oswald, and the U.S. Supreme Court's decision legalizing abortion, Roe v. Wade. TLS, one page, 8.5 x 11, personal letterhead, November 10, 1967. Letter to Lilly B. England of Dallas, in part: "As one who is vitally concerned with justice and law enforcement in Dallas County, I want to express my appreciation to you for serving as a juror in the case of the State of Texas vs. William Edward Livingston. Dallas County citizens who are willing to give of their time and effort in order to render just and proper verdicts form the foundation upon which our entire legal system rests." In fine condition.
