American combat pilot (1912-1988) who was a United States Marine Corps fighter ace during World War II. He received the Medal of Honor and the Navy Cross and the television series Baa Baa Black Sheep was inspired by Boyington and his men in the ‘Black Sheep’ squadron. It ran for two seasons in the late 1970s. Signed book: Baa Baa Black Sheep. Eleventh impression. NY: G. P. Putnam's Sons, 1958. Hardcover with dust jacket, 6 x 8.5, 384 pages. Signed neatly on the half-title page in blue ballpoint, "Col. Greg 'Pappy' Boyington." In fine condition, with some wear and creasing only to the dust jacket, and bottom edge of signed page starting to separate from spine.
