Description

On the death of Prince Philip: "His Royal Highness was a unique and very special man—his loss will leave a huge void in our lives"

TLS signed “With best wishes, Camilla,” one page, 5.75 x 8.25, personal mourning letterhead, August 23, 2021. Letter to Reverend Ben Haslam, in full: "Thank you so much for writing to me after the death of my dear father-in-law. His Royal Highness was a unique and very special man—his loss will leave a huge void in our lives, and those of many, many others…Your words of comfort meant a great deal as we mark the end of an era.” Camilla adds the valediction in her own hand. In very fine condition. Accompanied by the original black-bordered mailing envelope. Philip died of 'old age' on the morning of April 9, 2021, at Windsor Castle, at the age of 99, two months before his 100th birthday. He was the longest-serving royal consort in world history.
