Description

LS signed “Wellington,” one page, 7.25 x 8, December 10, 1839. A letter addressed from Stratfield Saye, in full: “As it appears that Parliament is to assemble for the Dispatch of business on Thursday the 16th of January I venture to suggest to your Lordship the expediency of your attendance. It cannot be doubted that Business of Importance, as well as the state of the country have considered necessary the Assembly of Parliament at so early a period, and that it is desirable that the House of Lords should be fully attended.” Double-matted with a portrait to an overall size of 10.5 x 20. In fine condition.
