Description

Three vintage metal building signs from the NASA Langley Research Center, each measuring 10″ in diameter, featuring one with number "1153" and two with number "1195." These were removed from two buildings that were razed to make room for the New Town project: one came from the NASA External Affairs Building no. 1153, constructed in 1941, and two from the Financial Management and Procurement Building no. 1195, constructed in 1966. Located next to Langley Air Force Base, the research center has focused primarily on aeronautical research, but has also tested space hardware such as the Apollo Lunar Module. It is home to more than 40 wind tunnels, used to study and improve aircraft and spacecraft safety, performance, and efficiency. In overall very good to fine condition, with splattered paint to a couple of the signs.
