Granddaughter (1868-1935) of Queen Victoria as the fourth child and second daughter of Edward VII and Alexandra of Denmark, and the younger sister of George V. Scarce Christmas card bearing a front design of flowers in a vase, measures 8 x 6 open, signed inside in fountain pen, “Victoria,” who writes “New Year” over the printed Christmas greeting and adds a lengthy handwritten note: “Thanking you for the card. Hope you had a happy Xmas with your family. I was so sorry about dear old Hammond, after so many years faithful service. Alas I only heard of it! after the funeral & it was grand he had full Naval Honours given him.” In fine condition.
