ALS signed “Rosa L. Parks,” one page, 5 x 8, January 6, 1980. Somber handwritten letter to Ed Ward, in part: "When your request for my autograph came, my mother was in the last stages of a very long illness. She passed away Dec. 12, leaving me alone, except a few relations and some friends. No immediate family. I was ill and quite exhausted. She was helpless for more than two years and could not walk at all. I am just getting to some of the mail that came during that difficult time.” In very good to fine condition, with a tear to the top, repaired with scotch tape. Accompanied by the original mailing envelope, which bears Parks's autograph in the return address field.
