Description

ALS signed “H. Hamlin,” one page, 7.5 x 10, December 6, 1845. Handwritten letter from Hamlin as a Maine Congressman to "James K. Polk, Pres't of the U.S.," in part: “I take pleasure in saying that I have been acquainted with Hon. Joseph Hall for several years. I can most cheerfully say that he is a gentleman entitled to your confidence as a man of honorable deportment, of strict moral honesty…who has done the cause of correct principles some service. He served as a Representative in Congress for years, and discharged with credit to himself his several duties.” In fine condition. Encapsulated in a PSA/DNA authentication holder.
