American politician and jurist (1752-1844) who served as an Associate Justice of the Supreme Court of the United States from 1811 to 1835, during the Marshall Court. Previously, Duvall was the Comptroller of the Treasury, a Maryland state court judge, a member of the U.S. House of Representatives from Maryland, and a Maryland state legislator. Hand-addressed envelope panel from the Comptroller’s Office, 6.25 x 2.25, filled out in another hand, addressed to “Philip B. Bradley Esquire, Ridgfield,” and franked above, "Free, G. Duvall.” In very good to fine condition, with a central vertical fold, and light edge stains from old mounting remnants on the back. Encapsulated in a PSA/DNA authentication holder, grading the autograph as “NM-MT 8.”
