First baseball commissioner (1866-1944), who was elected to office on November 12, 1920, and helped restore public confidence in baseball following the Black Sox scandal of 1919. He also served as a United States federal judge from 1905 to 1922. Scarce vintage matte-finish 9 x 11.25 portrait of Judge Landis, signed and inscribed in fountain pen, "To Chris Iammarino…with my hearty good wishes, Kenesaw M. Landis, April 5, 1932.” In fine condition, with scattered light silvering to darker areas of the image.
