English aristocrat (1866-1923) and amateur Egyptologist best known as the financier of Howard Carter's excavation of Tutankhamun's tomb. ALS in French, signed “Carnarvon,” three pages, 4.5 x 5.25, personal letterhead, April 24, 1892. Handwritten letter with some commentary on his art collection, in full (translated): "I have just received your letter, and as everything relating to the 18th century interests me I will be very happy to put myself entirely at your disposal for the few drawings, paintings etc. that I own from the French School. Please tell me if the designs for the books are within your scope and also what details you need. I will be in London within 15 days from where I will send you what I can." In fine condition.
