ALS signed “Wellington,” one page both sides, 7.25 x 9.25, January 19, 1829. Addressed from London, a handwritten letter to Reverend Charles Musgrave, in part: “It was impossible to give the Consent of the Crown in a Case which the Interests of the Church were so materially concerned as in that upon which you write to me without consulting the Crown Lawyers; which I did as soon as I received your Letter of the 15th Sept. and the Papers transmitted therewith. I have only within these few days viewed their opinion upon the Subject, which is now under the Consideration of the Board of Treasury; and I hope to be able to send you a positive answer in a few days.” In very good to fine condition, with short edge tears, minor edge loss, and small hole affecting a couple of words of test.
