AMQS on an off-white 5.5 x 2.75 slip, dated and signed at the conclusion in ink, "Paris, 12 Mai 1855, G. Verdi." Verdi pens nine bars of music in a three-stave system from his grand opera 'Les vêpres siciliennes [The Sicilian Vespers].' In fine condition. Verdi's opera would premiere at the Paris Opera one month later on June 13, 1855. The work followed immediately after Verdi's three great mid-career masterpieces, Rigoletto, Il trovatore, and La traviata of 1850-1853.
