Description

Graded by PSA VG 3. The premiere rookie card from the 1954 Topps set, this fantastic example boasts a portrait of the young Henry Aaron in his Milwaukee Braves cap and a smaller image of him fielding a ground ball, along with his facsimile signature. It has vibrant colors, sharp registration, clean edges, and square corners; the 90/10 centering and a single nick to a rear corner are its chief faults.

Here, Aaron stands on the precipice of stardom: he would bat .280 with 13 homers to finish fourth in 1954's Rookie of the Year voting. He made his first All-Star team the next year, and soon emerged as one of the most powerful and consistent hitters in baseball history. Aaron would finish his Hall of Fame career in 1976, having set all-time record in home runs (755), RBI (2297), and total bases (6856). His rookie card is one of the most sought-after and iconic Topps cards of the 1950s.
