Description

Signer of the Declaration of Independence from Connecticut (1731-1811). Manuscript DS, signed “Wm. Williams,” one page, 8 x 12.5, November 1, 1805. State Committee document “to be delivered immediately” to Bela Peck, Clerk of the Turnpike Road Company at Norwich, ordering him to make specified road and bridge repairs between Norwich and Hartford within ten days. Signed at the conclusion by Williams and by David Trumbull as Lebanon’s representatives to the Connecticut General Assembly. In very good to fine condition, with light dampstaining, and old repairs to split folds. Trumbull (1751-1822) was an Assistant Commissary General of Connecticut during the Revolutionary War, and was the son of patriot Governor of Connecticut Jonathan Trumbull, Sr.
