Wonderful original glossy 8 x 10 silver gelatin photo of David Bowie by photographer David Gahr, which depicts the artist in a close-up pose at RCA Studios in New York City on January 31, 1973. Reverse bears an affixed credit label and a David Gahr credit stamp. In very good to fine condition, with a diagonal crease passing through Bowie's hair to under his right eye.
David Gahr (1922-2008) was an American photographer whose photographic output features more than five decades of musicians like Phil Spector, Bob Dylan, David Bowie, Miles Davis, Bruce Springsteen, Van Morrison, Janis Joplin, Sonny Terry, John Lennon, Aretha Franklin, and Johnny Cash, among others. His book, The Face of Folk Music, with writer Robert Shelton captured the exploding American Folk music scene.
