Description

USS Enterprise blueprint for the classic Star Trek episode 'Bread and Circuses'

Original 35.75 x 41.75 interior blueprint of the primary hull of the USS Enterprise (NCC-1701), used for “Bread and Circuses,” the classic 25th and penultimate episode of the second season of the science fiction television series Star Trek, which was broadcast on March 15, 1968. The entirety of the blueprint bears affixed labels related to either sections of the set or of the spacecraft, and the lower right corner of the blueprint is designated as “Star Trek, Desilu Productions, ‘Bread and Circuses,’ Stage 9 Master-Int. Bridge 6034, Walter Jefferies.” Most notably, the upper right corner shows the ship’s famous bridge area, marked “Bridge, Shoot 9/19,” and features affixed labels for “Captain’s Chair,” “Uhura’s Console,” “Spock’s Console,” “Sulu’s Helm,” “Engineering,” and “Main Viewing Screen.” Other labels scattered around the blueprint read: “Transporter,” “Turbo Lift,” “Examination Room,” “Sickbay,” “Corridor,” “Doctor’s Office,” “Engine Room,” “Captain’s Quarters,” “Main Entrance, Stage 9,” “Makeup Room,” “Prop Room,” “Special Effects,” “Planet Scenery Shots,” with arrow pointing to “Stage 10,” and others. Framed to a slightly larger size. In very good to fine condition, with staining to the top edge, and heavy overall fading. Walter Matthew Jefferies was an aviation and mechanical artist, set designer, and writer (1921-2003) best known for his work on the original Star Trek television series, where he designed many of the sets and props, including the original Starship Enterprise, and the bridge and sick bay.

Originates from the family collection of Hollywood legend Kirk Douglas.
