Pope, born Ambrogio Damiano Achille Ratti (1857-1939), who reigned from 1922 until his death and issued encyclicals condemning communism, fascism, and racism. Manuscript apostolic benediction, signed "Pius PP XI," one page, 11 x 16.5, April 8, 1924. An apostolic blessing for "the Members of the Tabernacle Society of the Sacred Heart of New-York on the occasion of its Golden Jubilee, 1874-1924.” The upper section bears an affixed circular portrait of Pope Pius, and the document is signed by him at the conclusion. In very good to fine condition, with scattered light foxing, and staining and clear tape along the bottom edge. Accompanied by a full letter of authenticity from JSA.
