Journalist and statesman (1841-1929) who served as Prime Minister of France during World War I. Scarce matte-finish 11.5 x 9 photo of Clemenceau in his office by Henri Manuel, signed and inscribed in the lower border in fountain pen, "A Robert Lee Humber, G. Clemenceau.” Also signed in pencil by the photographer. A collector's notation on the reverse indicates that it was signed in Paris in 1929. In fine condition. Henri Marcel served as the official photographer of the French government from 1914 to 1944. Clemenceau is rarely seen in this size and format.
