Renowned composer and lyricist (1888-1989) whose music forms a large part of the 'Great American Songbook.' Scarce partly-printed DS, signed "Irving Berlin," one page, 8 x 5.75, July 15, 1929. Stock transfer document by which Berlin sells 100 shares of the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad Company to Gruntal, Lilienthal & Co., boldly signed at the conclusion in ink by Irving Berlin. Includes the associated stock certificate (no. C184023) issuing 100 shares to Berlin on May 4, 1929—mere months before the stock market crash that plunged the United States into the Great Depression. In fine condition. An especially nice example for framing or display.
