Distinguished American painter (1837-1926) of the Hudson River School, best known for his epic images of Yellowstone Park. Uncommon ALS signed “T. Moran,” one page, 5 x 8, [April 21, 1872]. Handwritten letter to "Stedman," ostensibly the writer Edmund Clarence Stedman, in full: "Excuse my forgetfulness but I intended to have brought your invitation to the private view when I came to varnish the pictures the other day. In my haste and confusion with matters over in N. Y. I suppose I have overlooked many friends. My time has been so short to get up the affairs that it must be a failure in some respects." In fine condition.
