Painter (1938-1966) who was a founder (and sole female member) of the British Pop art movement. Her rebellious art, combined with her free-spirited lifestyle, heralded the feminist movement of the 1970s. Largely forgotten after her death from cancer at age 28, her work was rediscovered and gained renewed interest in the 1990s and 2000s. Vintage glossy 5.75 x 8.75 photo of the artist smoking a cigarette taken by John Aston, signed and inscribed in fountain pen, "To George, Best wishes, Pauline Boty.” In very good to fine condition, with several surface creases to the inscription area.
