Irish political leader (1775-1847) best known for his tireless efforts on behalf of Catholic Emancipation and the repeal of the Act of Union which combined Ireland and Great Britain. Hand-addressed and free franked address panel, 4.75 x 3.25, addressed by O'Connell to "Mrs. Fenton, Crimble House, W. Rochdale," and franked in the lower left, "Daniel O'Connell." Also dated across the top by O'Connell, "1839, London, July 10," and canceled with a "Free" postmark. In very good to fine condition, with trimmed edges and light show-through from old mounting remnants on the back.
