Fascinating official "Space Transportation System Training Data" manual for the Space Shuttle Main Engine (SSME), entitled "SSME Orientation (Part A-Engine)," prepared by the Rocketdyne Division of Rockwell International in November 1984, 9 x 11, 199 pages plus 52-page "SSME Description and Operation" supplement. The manual is separated by tabs into sections labeled "Introduction," "Description," "Turbopumps," "Combustion," "Sensors," "Ignition Sys," "Control Sys," "Hyd Valves," and "Eng Operations." The handbook contains numerous schematics, diagrams, and images of the Space Shuttle Main Engine and its component parts and subsystems. Also includes a satin-finish 10 x 8 color photo of a SSME propellant flow schematic, as well as a color overhead projector transparency with a similar image. In fine condition, with some wear to the photo.
