Partly-printed vellum DS, signed "George R.," one page, 16.25 x 11.75, March 1, 1794. King George appoints "Our Trusty and Welbeloved Captain John Smith of Our Royal Regiment of Artillery" as a "Major in Our Army." Signed in the upper left by King George. The original white and blue paper seals remain affixed to the left side. In very good to fine condition, with light staining and soiling.
