Description

Austro-Hungarian field marshal (1856-1920) who was described as one of the finest defensive strategists of the First World War, nicknamed the 'Lion of Isonzo' for his command of troops on the Isonzo front. Word War I-dated LS in German, signed "Boroevic," one page, 8.25 x 6.75, February 18, 1916. Untranslated letter signed by Boroevic as Commander of the Fifth Army. In fine condition, with a central vertical fold, light creasing, and a rusty paperclip impression to the edge.
