Byrd over the North Pole in the Fokker F.VIIa/3m tri-motor monoplane 'Josephine Ford' on May 9, 1926, 10 x 6.5, mounted below a printed and flight-certified statement from Byrd, which reads: "I am happy to present to the Indianapolis Star this American flag which I carried to the North Pole with me on my flight made May 9, 1926. R. E. Byrd, Jr., Lt. Commander U.S. Navy (ret)." Framed together to an overall size of 13 x 17.75. In fine condition, with light fading the colors of the flag.
