Mother (1907-1981) of Lee Harvey Oswald, who maintained her son's innocence and insisted that he was an agent of the Central Intelligence Agency. Exceptionally rare original Notice of Insurance Claim / Proof of Death certificate for Lee Harvey Oswald filed by his mother, signed "Marguerite C. Oswald," one page, 8.5 x 10.25, December 26, 1963, just 32 days following Oswald's murder by Jack Ruby in retribution for his alleged assassination of President John F. Kennedy. The document, issued by the National Life and Accident Insurance Company of Nashville, Tennessee, specifies the name of the deceased, "Lee Harvey Oswald," dates of birth and death, place of death, "Dallas," and cause of death "gunshot wound." Matted and framed with an original glossy UPI press photo of Oswald taken on the day of Kennedy's assassination to an overall size of 19.5 x 14.5. In fine condition. The insurance company honored its obligations paying Mrs. Oswald $863.00 several months later, after execution of the document. A certificate of particular interest and poignancy that relates to the well-documented fallout and murder of the proposed Kennedy hitman.
