King of Saxony (1750-1827) from 1806 to 1827 who became one of Napoleon's most loyal allies and lost much of his kingdom to Prussia at the Congress of Vienna. Manuscript DS, in German, signed "Friedrich August," three pages on two adjoining sheets, 8.25 x 13.25, April 13, 1799. Untranslated official document signed at the conclusion by Frederick Augustus I as Elector of Saxony. In very good to fine condition, with scattered staining (including some seal-related staining to the first page), a rusty circular paperclip impression to the last page, and the wax that once secured the paper seal absent; the embossed seal, however, is present.
