In very good to fine condition, with scattered staining to the perimeter. Interestingly, Rachmaninoff appears to have misattributed this piece of advice: it appears in Ivan Turgenev's Fathers and Sons ('Nature is not a temple, but a workshop, and man's the workman in it').
