Two items signed by cartoonists:
Tom Browne: British cartoonist (1870-1910) who created the tramps Weary Willie and Tired Tim. ALS, one page, 6.75 x 8, beautiful full color personal letterhead, 1907. Letter to "Cooper," in full: "Thanks for sending M.S. of interview. I have made a few slight alterations & I have cut out all references to income for very obvious reasons. The Income Tax man has been very busy round my way lately." In fine condition, with light creasing.
Joseph Keppler: Austrian-born American cartoonist and caricaturist who greatly influenced the growth of satirical cartooning in the United States (1838-1894). Bank check, 9 x 3.5, filled out in another hand and signed by Keppler, "Jos. Keppler," made payable to Estate Jacob Ottmann for $3000, July 16, 1913. In fine condition.
