The group comprises many letters, a few documents, and clipped signatures of politicians of note, mostly ranging from the 19th to early 20th centuries. Davis, Chauncey Depew, John Elliott, Edward Everett, Hamilton Fish, Stanley Griswold, Mark Hanna, David B. Henderson, G. W. Hopkins, Samuel Livermore, George L. Macy, Samuel Meredith, Theodore M. Pomeroy, Luke Pryor, Samuel J. Randall, Thomas B. Reed, Milton Sayler, Frederick W. Seward, John Sherman, Daniel Webster, Increase Sumner, John W. Taylor, Abraham B. Venable, James W. Wadsworth, Daniel Webster, John White, and Silas Wright. In very good to fine condition, with a tear to the center of the Daniel Webster slip, and general wear throughout including folds, creases, rusty paperclip impressions, and tears.
These autographs are part of a large American collection mostly assembled in the early-to-mid 20th century. Due to the large quantity, there is a small possibility of secretarial and/or misidentified signatures within the binder.
