Fantastic ALS in German, signed “F. Liszt,” one page, 5 x 7, August 11, 1880. Handwritten letter to the young composer Cornelius Rubner in Baden-Baden, politely apologizing for his delay in responding, and saying that an aria Rubner has composer ("Jesum lass ich nicht," op. 15) has "nice feeling and good style." Handsomely double-matted and framed with the original mailing envelope (addressed in Liszt's hand) and a carte-de-visite portrait to an overall size of 15.25 x 13.25. In fine condition.
