English artist, writer, textile designer, and socialist associated with the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood and English Arts and Crafts Movement (1834-1896). ALS, one page both sides, 5 x 8, Kelmscott House letterhead, no date. Handwritten letter to "My dear Ellis," in part: "I also want to see you about a proposal of Magnusson's: I could call on Saturday morning if that would suit….am gouty today & can hardly come through the rain, & besides have a job to finish which I must attend to. I see we shall have to be careful, & form our own plan, & stick to it tightly, being meantime sanguineously civil to everybody." In fine condition.
