(Walt Disney Studios, 1940) Original production cel of Jiminy Cricket and a publicity cel of Pinocchio on a hand-painted master background from Pinocchio, which depicts the boy puppet in a happy full-length walking pose, with Jiminy seated small and forlornly on the bottom step of a stone stairway. The cels have been trimmed and applied to a hand-painted master background from the same film, which was prepared by Courvoisier Galleries for sale. Images measure 4.25 x 7.25 (Pinocchio) and 1 x 1 (Jiminy), with a mat opening of 10 x 8; the mat features the encircled Walt Disney Productions “WDP” stamp and the cel title to left side. Framed to an overall size of 17 x 15.75, with the piece bearing the original Walt Disney Productions label on the reverse. In fine condition, with an instance of flaking to Pinocchio's left arm and a small spot of adhesive residue to background near Jiminy.
