Attractive soft leather bifold padfolio gifted as a Christmas present from President Ronald Reagan and First Lady Nancy Reagan in 1982. Made by Bond Street, the padfolio measures 8 x 9.75, with the front bearing a gilt seal of the President of the United States next to “Christmas, 1982,” and the inner sleeve bearing an inscription in gilt lettering: “To R. S., From: R. R. & N. R.” In fine condition, with expected light wear. The "R. S." inscription is for Rex Scouten, a former Secret Service Agent who served as White House Chief Usher from 1969 to 1986, serving under presidents Nixon, Ford, Carter, and Reagan; he then became White House Curator from 1986 to 1997, under Reagan, Bush, and Clinton.
