Terrific ‘The Far Side’ birthday card with a Zen-like Gary Larson cow, measures 9.75 x 6.75 open, signed and inscribed inside in black ballpoint to Beatles recording engineer Geoff Emerick, “Dear Geoffrey, Have a HAPPY one!! Love Paul + the kids.” In very fine condition. Accompanied by the original mailing envelope, postmarked December 6, 1999, and by a certificate of authenticity from Tracks.
Emerick worked with the Beatles on their albums Revolver (1966), Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band (1967), and Abbey Road (1969). Producer George Martin credited him with bringing 'a new kind of mind to the recordings, always suggesting sonic ideas, different kinds of reverb, what we could do with the voices.' He continued to work with McCartney following the Beatles' break-up, serving as recording engineer for Band on the Run (1973), London Town (1978), Tug of War (1982), and Flaming Pie (1997).
