British statesman (1676-1745) considered the first prime minister of Great Britain who served during the reigns of George I and II. Ink signature, "Walpole,” on an off-white 2.5 x 6.25 slip clipped from a document, also signed by two others. Affixed to a larger sheet and in very good condition, with light staining, edge loss, and a tear touching the end of the signature.
