German composer (1812-1883) chiefly remembered for his opera Martha, which was popular in the 19th century. LS in German, signed “F. v. Flotow,” one page both sides, 5.5 x 8.75, October 30, 1859. Untranslated letter signed by the composer. In fine condition, with two small rusty paperclip impressions to the first page.
