Description

The King of Denmark issues a patent for "improvements in musical instruments"

King of Denmark from 1863 until his death in 1906. Partly-printed DS in Danish, signed “Christian R,” one page both sides, 9 x 14.5, March 24, 1877. Patent document issued to Paul Ehrlich for "improvements in musical instruments," signed at the conclusion by King Christian IX. Retains the original seal, and the attached four-page description of the invention. Also attached is a fold-out diagram of the invention, evidently a mechanism for player pianos or other musical automata. In very good to fine condition, with overall creasing, intersecting folds, and old paper tape along the hinge.
