Italian actress (1858-1924) and rival of Sarah Bernhardt, remembered for her performances in the plays of Gabriele d'Annunzio and Henrik Ibsen. Two untranslated ALSs in French, both signed "E. Duse," plus a hand-addressed envelope with her signature in the lower corner. One letter is on both sides of a personal stationery card, and the other is three pages on Grand Hotel Florence letterhead. In overall fine condition.
