TLS, one page, 7.25 x 9.5, Supreme Court of the United States letterhead, August 26, 1986. Letter to Senator Daniel Patrick Moynihan, in part: "But for a meeting of the Commission on the Bicentennial of the United States Constitution in Annapolis on September 12th, I surely would be present at the dinner in your honor on that day. We deliberately set the meeting to take note of the great Annapolis Convention of September 12th, 1776, as that, as we know, led the way to Philadelphia." In fine condition, with some diagonal creasing to upper portion, and a numerical ink notation to the top edge.
