Legendary organized crime leader (1902-1983) who headed the notorious ‘enforcement’ syndicate Murder, Inc., which emerged in the early 1930s as successor to the warring Prohibition gangs and the old-line Mafia, and continued to operate into the 1950s. Meyer Lansky's personally-owned and -worn gray sport coat with white stitched accents, lined with drab purple silk. The front features two dark buttons, and three dark buttons are on each cuff. In very good condition, with scattered staining. Accompanied by modern print of a private family photograph showing Lansky wearing the jacket with his wife and friends, and a certificate of authenticity from the estate of his second wife, Thelma Lansky.
