Revolutionary War-dated manuscript DS, signed “Benj'n Rush" and "Rich'd Stockton,” one page both sides, 7.75 x 12.25, September 22, 1779. Land deed for the purchase of fifty acres in New Market, New Jersey, in part: "Memorandum of agreement…between doctor Benjamin Rush of the City of Philadelphia of the one part, and Ezekiel Forman of the State of Maryland of the other part…The af'd Benjamin purchases from the af'd Ezekiel a certain parcel of Land now in the possession of the af'd Ezekiel, laying near Princeton in the State of New Jersey, and known there by the name of New Market—in the whole containing about Fifty Acres of Land." Signed at the conclusion by Benjamin Rush and Ezekiel Forman, and endorsed on the reverse by Richard Stockton as a witness for receipt of delivery. In very good to fine condition, with two stains, and a split to the end of the central horizontal fold. A rare and stunning document signed by two of America's founders.
