Signer of the Declaration of Independence from Pennsylvania (1739-1813) who served as the first president of the Philadelphia Bank. Partly-printed DS, signed “G. Clymer,” one page, 8.5 x 4.75, no date. Tax document certifying that "the duties on one Puncheon of Rum containing one hundred & thirteen gallons of the third proof, and marked and numbered as in the margin, have been secured according to law." Signed below by Clymer as the supervisor of the Revenue for the District of Pennsylvania. Archivally mounted, matted, and framed to an overall size of 14.75 x 11.5. In very good to fine condition, with scattered light staining.
